Hand-Dyed Mini Yarn Skein: Dogwood Blossom

Dogwood Blossom was dyed on a day when my sweet little backyard tree was in bloom. It is a variegated soft, clear pink speckled with olive, deep pink, forest green, and little bits of gold throughout.

I've dyed it on a base of Jagger Spun's Maine Line sport, a three-ply, 100% wool yarn from fourth-generation family-owned woolen mill in southern Maine. I love knitting with this sturdy, medium-grade yarn. It has a nice, solid twist to it and a bit of sheen, but knits up into pieces that have a stately sort of drape. It doesn't bloom much with blocking, but retains just the slightest halo, making finished items feel lovely and kind of old-fashioned.

After dyeing, I rinse all yarns in cool water then soak them with Eucalan wool wash.

This is non-superwash yarn. Please hand-wash in cool water and lay flat to dry.
